Power
Panel does not power up. Touch Screens don’t display or respond.
- Verify that the panel transformer is plugged into an unswitched outlet.
- Check the AC circuit breaker to be sure the circuit is live.
- Check the transformer circuit breaker
- Check that the backup battery is installed correctly and the AC power transformer is plugged in.
- Check for proper panel and transformer wiring.
- Measure the incoming AC voltage at panel terminals 1 and 2. It should read about 24 VAC.
No incoming AC voltage at panel terminals 1 and 2.
- Unplug the AC power transformer and disconnect the wires from the transformer and the panel.
- Check transformer to panel wire for short or open circuits.
- Check the transformer circuit breaker
- Verify proper wiring of the transformer for the appropriate incoming voltage
- Plug in the transformer and check for 24 VAC at the transformer unconnected terminals. If zero (0) volts, replace the transformer.
Touch Screen Display indicates System Low Battery
- Check that the backup battery is installed correctly and the AC power transformer is plugged in.
- Measure the incoming AC voltage at panel terminals 1 and 2. It should read about 24 VAC.
- Check for 12 to 13.8 VDC battery voltage between the backup battery spade lugs. If the battery voltage is not within this range, replace the battery.
Note:
When the panel is running a backup battery test, the reading at the connected battery can range from 11.2 to 13.8 VDC. The panel automatically runs a backup battery test under the following conditions: (1) on initial power-up, (2) when entering system program mode, (3) once every 24 hours. With the AC power transformer plugged in, the panel automatically charges the battery. While the battery is charging for the first time it is normal for the system to indicate System Low Battery. This can take a number of hours depending on the initial battery charge. Once the battery reaches 12.5 VDC (full charge as measured while in battery test), the condition clears. If the trouble condition persists after 24 hours, replace the backup battery.
The Touch Screens display AC Power Failure/AC Failure After pressing STATUS. (Panel continues to operate from backup battery).
- Check the AC circuit breaker to be sure the circuit is live.
- Check for proper panel and transformer wiring.
- Check that the transformer is plugged into a nonswitched outlet and secured with the provided screw. Check that the transformer is supplying AC to the panel.
Touch Screen displays Overcurrent
- Verify the current draw for all the devices connected to the CELAN port that is displaying trouble
- Each port on the Protector panel is capable of 2.5 amps, if needed move devices to the other bus
Zones
Touch Screen displays EOL Short
- Verify EOL resistor (3.0K OHM) is installed in series on a N/C loop, and in parallel on a N/O loop
Touch Screen displays Ground Fault High (GFH)
- Verify the high-side of the zone wiring, this should be the side the 3.0K OHM resistor is connected to.
Touch Screen displays Ground Fault Low (GFL)
- Verify the low-side of the zone wiring.
Zone does not Chime from the Touch Screen when opened
- Verify Touch Screen volume is set to an audible setting
- Verify the partition the zone is active in is not set to Silent
- Verify the zone is programmed to a zone type that chimes (only perimeter zone types chime)
- Verify zone is programmed into the correct partition
Zone cannot be bypassed
- Access Code does not have the authority to Bypass zones, edit or create a new code
Zone operates opposite as intended
- Edit the zone settings in Zone Input programming and change to N/C or N/O
CeLAN Devices
Touch Screen display “Unenrolled device found on system”
- Enter system program mode and select CeLAN Devices – Enroll Devices when complete exit program and save.
Note: The system will enroll all CeLAN devices upon initial power-up, if a new device is added after initial power-up you must enroll the device though system programming
Touch Screen is locked-up and will not respond to any touches
- Temporarily power down the Touch Screen by removing the power (red) lead, then power back-up. The Touch Screen should go though its initial power up sequence, if it still does not respond replace the Touch Screen
The CeLAN LED on a device is not flashing
- Verify the proper wiring to the CeLAN bus
- Power cycle the device and verify proper operation
Touch Screen goes blank
- Verify touch screen program setting in for Idle Screen, located in system programming, Touch Screen Options
Chime feature will not turn off
- Make sure all touch screens assigned to the partition have the chime feature turned off
Programming
User cannot remember access code(s).
- Check your records to see if you have the user access code(s) on file.
- Program in a new access code for the customer
Installer cannot remember installer code.
- Check your records to see if you have the install code on file.
- Use the Super Master Code to enter program mode and program a new installer code
System will not Arm if a zone is violated
- Verify Option – No Arm if Zone is Tripper located in the System Menu, when highlighted (yellow) you cannot arm the system if a zone is violated, if not highlighted, the system will protest when trying to arm with a zone violated.
System won’t disarm.
- Disarming using incorrect code. Enter correct code.
- Access code is not programmed or set up in user programming
